After a refreshing summer hiatus, Studio Kroner is reopening — and we’re thrilled to return with a powerful new exhibition that invites you to see the natural world in a whole new light, opening with a reception on Thursday, October 30, from 6–9 pm.

Studio Kroner is honored to present The Art of John Agnew, a new exhibition celebrating the life and work of Cincinnati-based naturalist and artist John Agnew. Opening with a reception on Thursday, October 30, from 6–9 pm, the exhibition runs through November 29, 2025, and includes two additional public events:
Opening Reception: 6–9 pm, Thursday, October 30
Artist Talk: 1–2 pm, Saturday, November 8
Closing Reception: 1–4 pm, Saturday, November 29
About the Exhibition
John Agnew has spent a lifetime merging scientific accuracy with artistic expression, working primarily in scratchboard and plein air painting. Influenced by 19th-century zoological engravings and his mother’s abstract expressionism, Agnew’s art elevates even the most overlooked creatures with dignity and depth.
From museum murals and dioramas at the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences, and the Moscow Zoo, to internationally exhibited fine art and works displayed in U.S. embassies abroad, Agnew’s career bridges art and science with remarkable vision.
“This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into John’s unique perspective on the natural world,” said Paul Kroner, owner of Studio Kroner. “His ability to capture the dignity and complexity of all species—whether conventionally beautiful or not—invites us to see nature with fresh eyes.”
