BE STILL: John Metz July 1-31, 2021 Opening Reception: 5-9 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021

John creates colorful, sensitive, abstract paintings in Encaustic hot wax, and in oil and cold wax that capture deep emotion and the ever-evolving beauty and mystery of nature. His work explores concepts of timelessness, beauty, energy, and spirituality. “BE STILL” is a show about this exploration, and John’s approach to life and art.

“When I paint, I try to be intentional about the emotions I'm expressing. My art is an attempt to discover meaning in the mysteries of life and to reflect a deep sense of stillness, hope, and connection. I strive to be fully present to what is being revealed through the paint and respond with gratitude. I believe that we are meant to live full and joyful lives. My paintings are an invitation to "Be Still" and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us all.” —John Metz

"I have been an admirer of John’s work for years," says Paul Kroner, artist and owner of Studio Kroner. "John's paintings are emotional and moving. They have incredible depth. He's truly a master at composition and color harmony. I am excited and honored to have his work here at Studio Kroner.”
