Ken Landon Buck Opens a New Exhibition Inspired by Three Years of Return Visits to Ohio’s Sacred Landscape
This June, Studio Kroner presents Serpent Mound: Observations of the Seen and the Unseen, a powerful new body of work developed through three years of return visits to Serpent Mound during equinoxes, solstices, and seasonal gatherings.

Featuring approximately 30 works in pastel, watercolor, and gouache, the exhibition explores themes of reverence, spirituality, memory, and presence through layered compositions inspired by Buck’s quiet observation of ceremonies marked by prayer, song, movement, and communal ritual.
What began as personal reflection gradually evolved into a deeply sustained artistic and spiritual practice. Drawn repeatedly back to the site across changing seasons, Buck translated fleeting moments of experience into atmospheric paintings that move between representation and abstraction, seeking to evoke not only what was seen, but what was felt.
SAVE THE DATE: The exhibition opens Thursday, June 4, with a public reception from 6–9 pm and continues through June 27.
